Dr. Garcia, a double board-certified pain specialist and anesthesiologist, is the founder and CEO of the Hawaii Institute for Pain / HI Pain. He completed his fellowship in Advanced Interventional Pain Medicine at the University Hospitals of Cleveland / Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, where he served as chief fellow and authored a chapter for the textbook, Spinal Injections and Peripheral Nerve Blocks. He completed both his internship and Anesthesiology residency at the same prestigious institution. He earned his medical degree from the University of Minnesota Medical School and his undergraduate degree in Psychology also from the 'U of M' wherein he graduated with highest honors (Summa Cum Laude). Dr. Garcia is active with the Hawaii Pain Society, the Hawaii Medical Association, the North American Neuromodulation Society and the Philippine Medical Association of Hawaii. He has given numerous talks and lectures on Pain Management and related topics locally and nationally.
For 10 years in a row and counting, Dr. Garcia has been named a “Top Doctor” in Pain Medicine by Honolulu Magazine and Castle Connolly. He is also a recent recipient of the prestigious Progress Award for outstanding contribution and achievement in the field of Healthcare & Medicine given by the United Filipino Council of Hawaii’s (UFCH), the oldest umbrella Filipino-American organization in Hawaii.
Dr. Garcia is an avid golfer who loves to spend time with his family. In addition to English, he speaks fluent Tagalog and Visayan (Cebuano). In his OR, you will hear Hawaiian Music playing in the background.
Dr. Seokhyun Jin is a fellowship-trained, board-eligible interventional pain specialist and anesthesiologist. He completed his fellowship in Interventional Pain Medicine at Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, OH and his residency in Anesthesiology at State University of New York (SUNY) Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY. Dr. Jin obtained his medical degree from Hanyang University College of Medicine in Seoul, South Korea and graduated Summa Cum Laude with highest honors.Dr. Jin has authored several peer-reviewed journal publications on various pain-related topics and has presented his findings in academic conferences nationwide.
Dr. Jin is active with many academic societies and is affiliated with the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA), American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine (ASRA), Pacific Spine and Pain Society (PSPS), American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians (ASiPP) among others.
Dr. Jin was an enthusiastic drummer in a rock band called “Medical Sound” in his medical school and performed numerous times. He even formed a rock band when he served as a public health doctor in South Korea and performed several times for the community where he worked in. In addition to English, he speaks fluent Korean. In his OR, you will hear Hawaiian music or classic rock music playing in the background.
Jennifer Wilson is a Family Nurse Practitioner, FNP, that is certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. She graduated with a master’s degree from Hawaii Pacific University in 2015 with her FNP degree and a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Hawaii at Manoa in 2012. She was born and raised on Oahu and is part native Hawaiian. She began her interventional pain management career with Hawaii Institute for Pain in 2016. She also specializes in rehabilitation of workman’s compensation injuries as a nurse case manager. Her hobbies include dancing, spending time with her pomeranian chihuahua named Bella, and bargain hunting at Ross.
Eva Shear is a board certified Physician Associate, PA-C. She was born and raised in Germany, where she started her medical career attending Medical School at the University of Duesseldorf. After moving to the United States, she graduated with a Post-Baccalaureate degree from Anne Arundel Community College, Maryland, in 2002. She started her career as a PA in Internal Medicine in Baltimore, then joined a clinic for Neurosurgery and Pain Management for seven years. Working in both specialties, she specialized in the care of spinal pump patients. She moved to Hawaii in 2010 where she worked for twelve years in a large Work Injury Clinic working closely with a Pain Management Specialist. She joined the Hawaii Institute for Pain in February 2023. She enjoys swimming and hiking the beautiful mountains of Oahu with her chow chow.
Natasha Murray is an advanced practice registered nurse who graduated with her doctorate degree in nursing at the University of Hawaii at Manoa in 2019. Additionally, she holds a bachelor’s degree in both sports medicine and psychology from Pepperdine University. She has a special interest in pain management, women’s health, and adult-geriatric nursing. In her free time, Natasha enjoys hiking, playing tennis, and spending time with family.
